Write the reaction equations: acetic ether – methanol – methanal-formic acid

Let’s carry out the solution of the chain of transformations:
CH3COO – CH3 + H2O = CH3COOH + CH3 – OH – hydrolysis of methyl acetate, methanol was obtained;
CH3 – OH + CuO = HCHO + Cu + H2O – the reaction proceeds when heated, methanal is released;
НСНО + 2Cu (OH) 2 = HCOOH + Cu2O + H2O – oxidation of methanal with copper hydroxide, formic acid is formed.
These reactions show the connection of esters, alcohols, aldehydes and carboxylic acids. The oxidation reactions of alcohol and aldehyde are qualitative, with their help it is possible to detect substances even in small quantities.
