CH4 + Br2 = CH3Br + HBr – substitutions, bromomethane obtained;
2CH3Br + 2Na = CH3 – CH3 + 2NaBr – ethane was formed during the Wurtz reaction;
C2H6 = H2 + C2H4 – dehydrogenation, ethylene is released;
H2C = CH2 = H2 + C2H2 – acetylene obtained;
С2Н2 + Н2О = Н2С = СНОН (vinyl alcohol) = СН3 – СОН – hydration, acetaldehyde (ethanal) was formed;
