Write the reaction equations: glucose-ethyl alcohol-acetic acid-carbon dioxide

To obtain ethyl alcohol from glucose, it is necessary to add yeast; under the action of the yeast, ethyl alcohol is formed and carbon dioxide is released. We act on the resulting ethyl alcohol as an oxidizing agent – a solution of potassium dichromate or potassium permanganate in an acidic medium, and acetic acid is obtained. In pure oxygen, acetic acid is oxidized to carbon dioxide and water.

1) C6H12O6 + yeast = 2C2H5OH + 2CO2

2) C2H5OH + K2Cr2O7, H + = CH3COOH

3) CH3COOH + 2O2 = 2CO2 + 2H2O
