Write the reaction equations Na → oxide → hydroxide → salt

We need to carry out reactions along such a chain of chemical reactions. Na = NaO = NaOH = NaCl. To do this, we need to make three reactions.

Interaction of sodium with oxygen to form sodium oxide.

2 Na + O2 = Na2O2

Next, we take the resulting oxide and add water. As a result of this reaction, we get sodium hydroxide and hydrogen peroxide.
Na2O2 + 2 H2O = 2 NaOH + H2O2
From the resulting hydroxide, we need to get salt. This is possible when sodium hydroxide interacts with acid, in our case sulfuric acid. Sodium sulfate salt forms and water is released.

2 NaOH + H2SO4 = Na2SO4 + 2 H2O.
