You know that water in the hydrosphere is mostly liquid. What does this mean for the water cycle? What do you think will happen to the water cycle if the ice age comes and a significant part of the earth’s surface is covered with ice, as it was in the past?

Liquid water is an “intermediate” state. Therefore, it is easier and faster to pass into a solid and gaseous state. And if most of the water on earth is in a solid state, then in order to go into a gaseous state, you must first go into a liquid state, and only then into a gaseous state. Thus, if most of the water on earth is solid, then the water cycle will be very slow.
