| Let’s write the reaction equation:
Zn + H2SO4 = ZnSO4 + H2 ↑
Let’s find the mass of sulfuric acid:
m (H2SO4) = mr.-pa (H2SO4) * w (H2SO4) / 100 = 120 * 10/100 = 12 (kg) = 12000 (g).
Let’s find the amount of sulfuric acid substance:
v (H2SO4) = m (H2SO4) / M (H2SO4) = 12000/98 (mol).
According to the reaction equation, 1 mol of H2 is formed per 1 mol of H2SO4, therefore:
v (H2) = v (H2SO4) = 12000/98 (mol).
Thus, the volume of released hydrogen, measured under normal conditions (n.o.):
V (H2) = v (H2) * Vm = (12000/98) * 22.4 = 2742.8 (l) = 2.7 (m3).
